- What is the use of Aire face masks?
- Aire face masks are a multi function protection mask designed to protect against particles, chemical and biological impurities. The filters FFP2/N95 and FFP3/N99 acts as a barrier against chemical and biological impurities.
The mask has a filter capacity up to PM 2.5 ultra fine particles. It is Ministry of Labour & Employment of India classified as half mask FFP2 as per BIS standards IS:9473-2002. This means it is able to filter up to 95% of 0.6 μm particles.
- Are Aire face masks certified by any organization?
- The Aire mask is tested and approved by the National Laboratory of Ministry of Labour and Employment of India. More information here.
- When should I change the filter?
- No need to change it since it’s attached to the mask. The mask is designed to last 6 months with a gentle care.
- Don’t rub the filter and don’t wash it in the washing machine. Best is to soak it in soapy water.
- How to wash the face masks?

- The mask require a gentle care.
- Clean it by soaking it for approximately 1 hour in soapy water at any temperature.
- IMPORTANT: Don’t rub the mask. Don’t iron it also.
- The mask lasts for 6 months if good care and follow instructions
- How to sterilize the mask?
- To sterilize the filter in hot water:
A) Boil filtered water and stop the fire. Immerse the mask in the boiled water. After 20 seconds remove the mask and dry it under the sun for 1 hour if possible.
B) Gentle hand wash with soap and dry it under the sun for 1 hour if possible.
- Why is Aire mask is more expensive than others?
- Our masks are reusable and long lasting. One can use them for months. They are of high quality with a new generation filter that eliminates 95-99% of noxious airborne, PM 2.5 particles. Thus, buying our masks is an investment.
- How does the Aire Mask filter function?
- Filters are made of polypropylene. They are designed and used to reduce the potential exposure of the wearer to airborne hazardous contaminants including biological impurities.The following is a functional description of the Aire masks and its intended use:
- Particle filtering half mask to reduce exposure to airborne particulate matter.
- Helps to protect from non-oil airborne particles such as dust, pollen, shavings, and particles (the general cause of air pollution)
- The mask can also help to reduce exposure to airborne biological particles such as mold, infections by some common strains of virus and most bacteria outbreaks
- Intended for general public use
- When is the use of Aire Masks not effective?
- Follow fitting instructions carefully; filtering efficiency depends on proper fitting.
- Do not use Aire mask for chemicals, gases, vapours, oils, aerosols, oil based particles, or extremely high particle concentrations.
- Do not use Aire mask in oxygen deficient or explosive atmospheres.
- Does not eliminate the risk of illness, diseases, or infection.
- Leakage will occur if facial hair passes under the face seal.
- What size should I order?
- Weight based Size Recommendations:
- Large: + 65 Kg body weight
- Medium: less than 65 Kg body weight

- What should I do if the ear loops tug on my ears and bend my ears forward?
- Try stretching the ear loops to maximum length two or three times, and then try the mask on again for size and comfort.
- What should I do if the mask fogs my glasses?
- Follow fitting instructions carefully. Make sure the side up is the side with the nose-clip for forming over the bridge of the nose. Form the aluminium nose-band carefully on the gaps between the nose bridge and the cheeks.
- What is the useful life of Aire mask?
- The useful life depends on the environmental conditions the mask in which the mask is worn. The obsolescence date of the filter is 6 months from the moment you start using it.
- Where is the filter and can it be replaced?
- The OYE mask textile needs to be replaced when you feel it, and the carbon filter lasts about 6 months according to the frequency of use. The filter is replaceable. You can buy it online in our webshop or in any shop that sells Aire masks.
- What are the maintenance and washing instructions?
- Remove the filter from the mask and boil it for 5 minutes in filtered water once a week if you use daily or once a month if the use is not daily.
- Leave it in the sun to dry, don’t use soap to wash the filter, and replace it after 6 months.
- Wash the mask whenever you feel it is necessary in the washing machine or by hand in cold water.
- Is it normal to feel resistance when inhaling through a mask?
- Yes, there is breathing resistance in any high efficiency particle filtering face mask. For most people, once you are not thinking about it, the resistance is not an issue. The inhalation resistance of our product is good within an acceptable range.
